Introducing Our Redesigned Desktop App: Record more effective Loom videos, faster
With this update, we’re also unifying the Loom look and feel across our most popular recorders. Whether you use our Chrome extension or desktop apps (and many of you record with both!), creating looms should feel familiar—and now, easier than ever.
Our team at Loom has built many amazing features this year, from AI-generated titles and chapters to instant transcripts in 50+ languages. But much more important to me as CTO has been the behind-the-scenes effort to improve the reliability and performance of our core product experience.
These launches are designed to do one thing: accelerate our mission to empower effective communication via video messages at work. Alongside our continued focus on performance and reliability, they mark the beginning of Loom’s next chapter. It’s a chapter that builds on async video that’s fast, intuitive, and easy — as well as automatic and magical.
Today. we’re launching a completely redesigned and rebuilt version of Loom’s Chrome Extension. This new version — which you can download here — started as a need to align with Chrome’s impending Manifest V3 migration, but it quickly became a much larger opportunity to deliver net-new features, improve performance, and make it even easier for our users to record with Loom.
The old adage “the work speaks for itself” isn’t as apt as it once was. Odds are you will have to speak for your work, provide feedback for someone else’s work, and decide what you should work on as a team. To do that, you need to be able to communicate clearly and efficiently. Here are four pillars of effective communication that you can use to make a bigger impact at work.
