Hi, I'm Sam from the Loom team. And I'm going to show you how to use async video to film a pitch for a business development presentation.

Here's an example. I filmed for a prospect that we're pitching to use our SDK product. I've walked them through how they could visualize it in their own platform. Take a look.

Hey, this is Sam from the loom team, and I'm going to walk you through how Upwork is using loom SDK in their messages product. I've started a room here and I'm messaging back and forth with a freelancer that I'm collaborating with on a marketing project. They've sent over a draft doc and I've told them I will record my comments in a loom to do that. I hit record with loom, the loom bubble appears, and I'm able to drag it around to wherever I want to record from.

I can also select the surface that I'd like to record. One thing that I'll mention is we're working on the customization of this panel. We're looking at the ability to customize fonts, colors, the overall experience to better match your brand. But at the moment, this is what it looks like in Upwork. I'll hit, start recording and account down is going to appear. So I have a few moments to get ready.

I can start recording my comments here. I can also switch tabs to record over top of a Google doc, a slide or any sort of webpage that I want to provide feedback on. Once I hit finished recording a preview shows up, I can watch this.

I can also restart my recording if I wasn't happy with it or delete it. I'm going to insert my recording here. And what's great is that when I hit send The loom is embedded right into the messages app so that I don't have to leave Upwork in order to watch it.

There's two reasons why this use case is really useful for end users. The first is that sometimes it's just easier to provide feedback via recording than it is to write it out. The example I think of immediately is if we were working on some sort of design project where I have a vision of what I want something to look like, it's probably just easier for me to record my thoughts rather than spend time to write that out.

The second reason why this use case is great is the ability to work across time zones. I'm based in Toronto, Canada. I might be working with a freelancer in Europe or Asia. And so being able to use loom allows me to keep the velocity and speed of the project going without having to spend time to find a moment to book a real-time meeting.
