As a new software engineer with a background in social work and behavioral healthcare, I am passionate about farming and nature. Root Up's goal is to create intentionally affirming learning spaces for aspiring BIPOC farmers, particularly Black farmers who identify as women and/or members of the LGBTQ community. The app allows users to browse farms by specific categories and learn about the background of the issue in the United States. It also highlights the primary goals, user types, regions, and communities being served. Additionally, Root Up aims to promote programs that provide training in farming-related trades, such as tractor repair, plumbing, irrigation, and carpentry, to serve these communities effectively."}
