In this Loom, I will be introducing you to our web quest project titled "Displacement in Harlem Due to Gentrification." This video is for anyone who missed the in-class introduction to the project. I will be explaining what gentrification is, how it affects the community, and what our task is. We will be examining three aspects of our assigned areas, including food, cost, housing, and safety, both before and after the gentrification of Harlem began to take effect. We will also be following the public policy analyst's six-step process to identify the problem, gather evidence, identify causes, evaluate existing public policies, and develop solutions. Our final presentation will include a link to three viable solutions to the rising problem of Harlem residents being displaced due to gentrification.
