I realized there's a lot of confusion around how to recycle and compost correctly, especially with items like plastic bags and coffee cups. To address this, I developed a mobile app that uses Google Vision to help users identify how to recycle or dispose of various items based on New York City's Department of Sanitation's rules. The app also includes information on composting and non-recyclable items, providing links for proper disposal. I encourage everyone to use this tool to make recycling and composting easier and more effective.
