I start in Automations and create the automation, using the trigger that a contact was created or updated with an appointment status. I add conditions for appointment status including pending and confirmed, and optionally appointment type and whether the contact is a lead or a client. I keep it high level so the email goes out for any questions. No action is explicitly requested, just follow along to set up the automation.
