Hi! My name is Solin Sok. I am an 11th grader from Paragon International School and I am a member of team 3. My final project depicts a giant girl who is studying while a smaller girl explores her table. I came up with this idea because I’ve started spending more time on my desk, studying for hours on end, which has become my new normal, thus the theme of the project” my new normal”. The giant girl who is reading a book symbolizes me. While the little girl symbolizes my desire to be free and have fun exploring around instead of being trapped, having to constantly study. With the help of my group leaders, my friends and a little bit of research, I’ve managed to complete this small animated and interactive project. For this project, I’ve made my own functions, as well as created and used my own variables as well as p5js’s built in variables such as preload, setup, draw, all that and more. For example, in order for the little girl to move around further than the canvas, I used keyPressed and keyReleased and I basically move everything to the opposite way of my character, for example she’s moving to the left right now and everything will be moving to the right. As for the key binds, you can use wasd as well as the arrow keys in order to move the little girl around. You can also use the keys R, E and T in order to interact with some objects in the project. But as for what happens when you press them, that’s up to you to find out for yourself. As for my experience for joining this program, I definitely do not regret joining at all because I’ve learnt many new things and I’ve challenged myself to learn a new language (coding in Java). I’ve met many lovely ladies who have inspired me to keep improving and shout out to my team leaders, bong Bormey and bong Kanika, as well as our teacher, Miss Amrudee because they were incredibly kind and patient with me and they also helped me fix my codes even though my ideas are always so complicated. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and I definitely would recommend any other lovely ladies to join if they are interested in coding or computer science. That is itl, I hope you have a great day and thank you for listening.</description></oembed>
