He talked about how Katahdins are well-suited for low input grazing programs, as well as went over the history and current state of the breed, including recent research, genetic improvements through the National Sheep Improvement Program (NSIP), and the overall popularity of Katahdins among producers. Caroline Owens co-hosted and talked about her great experiences raising Katahdins for solar grazing.

The Katahdin Hair Sheep is a popular breed with producers across North America, and many solar graziers are finding the breed valuable to their grazing operations, especially those based in the Northeast. The breed is adaptable to a wide range of forages under varying grazing conditions.
