Students receive a box split into two parts: parents initial the reading side and the other side after 10 minutes of math fact practice each night for 30 spaces to reach the five-hour prize. Students may skip days (for example, Wednesday sports) and make up practice by completing all 30 boxes by the end of the month, including weekend boxes. When students complete the one-hour and three-hour milestones, they bring the board to the front office and show Miss Sheely for prizes, and at five hours they add their name so the office can track the monthly winner. September prizes are root beer floats handed out in early October (at lunch).
