Step 1: Find the migration prompt
Go to Settings &gt; System Integrations and scroll to Mailchimp, or navigate to the new Integrations page from the menu. Either way, you&apos;ll see an &quot;Update to New&quot; button next to your active Mailchimp integration.

Step 2: Authenticate
Click &quot;Update to New.&quot; Spectora will redirect you to the new settings and authenticate in the background. Your existing API key carries over automatically — no action needed.

Step 3: Choose who to sync
Select whether you want to sync clients, agents, or both. If you&apos;re migrating existing contacts, leave &quot;Sync Existing&quot; off for now (you can enable it later if needed). Choose your Mailchimp audience from the dropdown.

Step 4: Set up tag syncing
This is new — the legacy integration didn&apos;t sync tags. You have three options:

Don&apos;t sync tags — keep things as-is
Replace Mailchimp tags — Spectora becomes the source of truth; manual Mailchimp tags will be removed
Add alongside Mailchimp tags — Spectora tags appear with a &quot;Spectora&quot; label prefix so they stay distinct

You can also choose to sync only new tags going forward rather than backfilling existing ones.

Step 5: Save
Hit Save. If you enabled a backfill, it&apos;ll process in the background (give it a few minutes). Your integration will now show as active with no &quot;Update&quot; button — you&apos;re done.

To adjust settings later, click Configure on the Mailchimp integration card.</description></oembed>
