But what happens when we start digging into the data?

In this video I start with a simple search for Norandrosterone and look at the countries and sports where the substance appears most frequently. Athletics stands out, and when I combine the substance with the sport, Kenya suddenly becomes particularly interesting.

I then use the Anti-Doping Database to follow the data from Norandrosterone, to athletics, to Kenya – looking at the athletes, sanctions and patterns along the way.

This is a simple example of how journalists, anti-doping organisations and sports federations can use the database to move beyond individual doping cases and get a better understanding of the bigger picture.
