Our team, along with Kate Lynn and Stephham IT, conducted over 80 interviews with educators to learn about the challenges of the individualized education plan (IEP) process for special education students. We found that the process is complex and dysfunctional, with a severe lack of clarity for teachers on how to best support each student. To address this, we ideated on a prototype within our solution to allow educators to easily reference and interpret each student&apos;s IEP goals with the much-needed context. We also learned that the data collection process is manual, tedious, and paper-based, leading to inaccurate progress tracking and missed interventions. Our platform provides engaging skills aligned with standards and automates many parts of the teacher&apos;s process. We also created a progress notes module to improve communication and documentation among the IEP team. Finally, we address the inequality of financial and time resources within schools, especially those with high volumes of English language learners. Our prototype includes AI-powered language translation, text-to-speech, and full web accessibility to remove barriers to learning. Our mission is to help students with disabilities lead more meaningful and independent lives.</description></oembed>
