I start by going to settings at the top right of the floorplan, and then I toggle the option called show full guest names. When it is on, you see the full names of each guest member. When I click it off and save, the changes automatically reflect, and you will see abbreviated names with first names shortened and last names shown. No extra action is required beyond toggling and saving.
