We’ve learned so much from you during our time as Opentest, especially after launching Openvid as an experiment back in late June.
We know you’ve received at least one survey request from us asking all sorts of questions such as “How are you using quick videos to communicate?” or “How does recording and sharing video make you feel?”
Insights from these surveys helped define our mission and how we landed on the new name, Loom. We thought it’s only appropriate to share what we learned from ya’ll.
Here’s what you taught us:
You taught us that there are problems with team communication that can be solved with video. Especially for teams that don’t work in the same space.
There are two elements of the word “loom” that encompass the vision and problem we’re going after:
We believe both of those elements exist at the very fabric of video communication. The efficiency of video helping individuals feel more connected and the effectiveness of exchanging knowledge with one another.
Outside of being a more mission-aligned brand, no.
Over the last couple months you helped us make steps towards this mission. The true team experience is being worked on right now and will be here shortly.
We want to sincerely thank those who have supported us along the way. Please continue to teach us new things and hold us to a high standard. There is something really special here for us to build together at Loom.
For those who feel inspired by this problem of team communication check out our list of openings below. Also, if you know any talented, driven people who are looking for their next opportunity, send them along!
