Notion is an all-in-one workspace, where you can collaborate with your team on literally any project you can imagine. From notes and task lists to product roadmaps; there’s even a place for design repositories!
Our team at Loom started using Notion last year and we haven’t looked back. Notion pages are highly customisable which helps our team stay up to date with everything going on.
Notion makes it incredibly easy to document workflows and important information, which we love to do. So in the midst of all that typing, we thought we could probably save some time if we recorded a few videos. 😇
That’s why we’re excited to announce that Loom has partnered with Notion to provide a seamless way for individuals and teams to embed Loom videos natively into their Notion workspaces.
Here are a few ways you can optimize your use of Loom videos within Notion:
👋 Onboard new teammates
Training new members of your team can be a daunting task. Where do you even start? With Notion, our team has been able to create boards that we follow with every new hire. Each onboarding task includes a Loom video showcasing different aspects of the company or product that we deem important for the new teammate to understand. It’s a great way of adding a human touch to an otherwise potentially boring task.
📆 Record Daily Updates
Bringing clarity to your team is essential when working on projects. If someone can’t make it to a certain meeting or if they like to consume knowledge at their own pace, sending recorded video updates via makes the information more visually appealing and allows individuals to learn at whatever time way best suits them. This means that your team will be able to watch your video updates when it is most convenient for them and revisit videos when needed. Here at Loom, we often update our Notion tasks with videos instead of text as we find it to be an efficient way to bring our team up to date.
📚 Team Training & Wiki
We believe that having access to key company information is essential so we document all of our workflows in video format. This helps new and current teammates to find the information they need, when they need it. There are many benefits to learning via video, as it enhances your experience. According to Forbes, millions of viewers are turning to videos for quick education. Make sure your team has access to all the information they need with quick videos too.
📣 Internal Team Announcements
Distributed teams aren’t always online at the same time. At Loom this is most certainly the case, since our teammates are located around the world. To conquer this challenge, we often record quick videos to communicate team announcements. This way of communicating asynchronously has helped the team regain some work-life balance. No one is left feeling like they are missing out as everyone can easily head to Notion and check the Team Announcements library, where they’ll find all the latest information.
